I have learned how to film different angles to make the film flow smoothly. Also i have learned how to edit certain clips to make the film look more professional, even if we only take a second off a clip.
We used the 180 degree on the conversation so you can see both of the characters view when talking. We did this by filming the whole conversation from one point of view, then filming it from the other point of view. When edited we mixed the two clips together so you can get a better feel for the characters surroundings. Another film technique we used was match on action, this is when you see an action from one angle then it is finished with another. For example when the character opened the door half of it was filmed from the outside then the other half is filmed from the inside this helps the film move on to a different location seamlessly.
This task has prepared me quite well for the course as i now know what works and what does not, like the dialogue in our film was incomprehensible therefore we need to talk much louder next time we film or pick a quieter location. We also found out that you can minimize the amount of editing you have to do by getting the correct timings when filming.
